How Do Odds Work?

Odds can be displayed in two ways: Fractions or Decimals

You will probably be most familar with odds as fractions (e.g. 3/1). But, you can opt to display them as decimals (e.g. 4.00) should you desire.
How to Change Odds Format
Below is a table highlighting the gap between the two: Fractions
Decimals
What exactly does it imply?
3/1 4.00
Place #/$1 euro to return #/$4 (#/$3 euro winnings + #/$1 bet )
4/1 5.00
Set #/$1 euro to return #/$5 (#/$4 euro winnings + #/$1 stake)
11/2 6.50
Place #/$ two euro to return #/$13 (#/$11 euro winnings + #/$ two bet )
Fractions
Whenever you see two numbers separated with a slash, i.e. 10/1, this really is a fractional betting odd.
Fractional odds allow you to calculate just how much you will win in your bet compared to you bet. The amount on the left(e.g. 10) is how much you will win. The amount on the right is how much you want to bet.
9/1 for every #/$1 you bet, you will win # 1 /$9. Additionally, this can be computed as 1 / (9 + 1) = 0.10 – There’s a 10% probability that the event will happen.
1/1 for each #/$1 you bet, you will win # 1 /$1. Additionally, this can be computed as 1 / (1 + 1) = 0.50 – There’s a 50% likelihood that the event will happen.
1/4 for every #/$4 you wager, you will win # 1 /$1. In addition, this can be computed as 4 (4 + 1) = 0.80 – There’s a 80% probability that the event will happen.
Decimals
At any time you see chances displayed in numerical form i.e. 9.00, this really is a decimal gambling odd.
Decimal odds allow you to calculate how much you will be returned if your bet win. Simply multiply your stake by the decimal amount displayed and that is how much you’ll receive – including your bet. The decimal chances are displayed up to 2 decimal places, but the yield will be paid off by calculating in the actual odds, to the closest #/$ 0.01. For instance, if your wager is placed at chances of 4.3333333 (that is 10/3 in fractional), a #/$10 bet would reunite #/$43.33 if it wins, but your chances would show as 4.33.
9.00 for each #/$1 you bet, you’ll win # 1 /$8. You’ll also receive your #/$1 stake back so your total return is # 1 /$9.
2.00 for every #/$1 you bet, you will win #/$1. You’ll also get your # 1 /$1 bet back so your total return is #/$2.
1.25 for each #/$4 you wager, you’ll win # 1 /$1. You’ll also get your #/$4 bet back so your total yield is #/$5.
